101 Surface Design
There is a rich array of commercially printed fabric to choose from––but you can also make your own with paints, oils sticks, and stencils. First we go to our host’s personal studio and combine simple household tools with textile paints to create original, colorful fabrics. Then, meet Jane Dunnewold to make a versatile stencil from fusible interfacing and nylon net.  Next, it’s our digital feature: Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero creates some amazing kaleidoscope cards.  Then it's the America Quilts feature with Sue Hausmann:learn to print a watercolor image on printer fabric and embellish with stitches both in computer software or free motion. Last up is Shelly Stokes and adding color and texture to your fabric with paint and textured surfaces using rubbing plates, stamps and household items.

102 Mixed-Media
New technologies and products—plus a willingness to think outside the sewing box—make it possible to pair fabric with just about anything you can find to create textured and very unique artistic expressions. First make lustrous dimensional quilts using a soldering iron and handmade fabric paper fused to felt.  Then learn how to transform bits of tissue papers and gift wrap into beautiful fabrics that can be machine- or hand-stitched and embellished, with designer Beryl Taylor. Then its time to go digital with Andrea Bishop and printing on surfaces other than paper, especially fabric.  Then join Sue Hausmann for machine piecing a half square triangle and tips for speed stitching on the bias.  Last it’s Tracy and Allison Stilwell and how to make scrap faces.

103 Embellishments and Encrustations
Embellishments such as beads, sequins, yarn, and even metal add dimension and sparkle. Create shimmering fabrics out of fibers that actually fuse together when heated.  The first feature is fabric foiling or adhering foils on fabric using fusible web. Then Betty Blais creates amazing embellishments using a specialty product for appliqués, collage, and moldable leaves. Next on the digital segment, Andrea Bishop shows how to add digital pics to our quilting.  Then it’s Sue Hausmann and machine trapunto quilting. Last up Mary Hettmansperger adds metal and embroidery to create a unique wall hanging with an Asian flair.

104 Landscape Quilts
Learn the tricks quilt artists use to create impressive landscape quilts. First Laura Cater-Woods helps make a whimsical landscape quilt.  Then she returns with accordion-style landscapes.  Next, Shelly Stokes creates the illusion of mountains, hills, trees and clouds with paint sticks and freezer paper stencils.  Then Jeanie Sumrall-Ajero has a whole new way to look at your landscape photos.  Finally, Sue Hausmann and stitching an omnimotion border on the straight and narrow to highlight your center blocks.
